1. Overview

Akribic (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Akribic platform (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you use the Service, why we collect it, and how we handle it. Using the Service means you agree to this Policy.

2. Data We Collect

  • Visit analytics: basic, pseudonymous page-view telemetry (for example: page URLs visited, timestamps, referrers) used to understand page performance.
  • Device diagnostics: browser type, OS version, approximate location derived from IP, and similar data required to keep the Service secure and reliable.
  • Support communications: content of emails you send to contact@akribic.com, along with any attachments or metadata you choose to include.

We do not offer user accounts today and we do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data. Please avoid sharing more than needed for support.

3. How We Use Data

  • Operate, maintain, and secure the Service, including fraud and abuse prevention.
  • Provide customer support and reply to messages sent to contact@akribic.com.
  • Monitor performance, debug issues, and improve features using aggregated analytics.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

4. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell personal data. We may share data with:

  • Service providers that host infrastructure, send emails, process telemetry, or provide security tooling—only to the extent needed to deliver the Service under confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property.
  • Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this Policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as needed to deliver the Service, meet legal requirements, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. We remove or anonymize data when it is no longer required.

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards (access controls, encryption in transit, monitoring, and regular reviews) to protect data. No system is perfectly secure, so please contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Submit requests using the contact info below, and we will respond as required by applicable law. You can also manage most account data directly within the Service.

8. International Transfers

We host the public website on Vercel (global CDN) and store telemetry and support data on Hetzner infrastructure in Germany. When data moves outside your jurisdiction, we rely on contractual safeguards and industry-standard security practices to protect it.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to individuals under 16. If we learn we have collected personal data from a child without consent, we will delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the Service or legal requirements. We will post the updated Policy with a revised effective date, and if changes are material we will provide additional notice.
